Partway

Wedding guests, scattered cities, one car.

Written September 2026

Weddings happen in lovely places with terrible transport, and the morning after, guests peel off towards half the cities in Britain. Not everyone drives. The kind fix isn't a coach or a £90 taxi: it's pairing each carless guest with a driver heading vaguely their way, and choosing the drop-off station properly.

Anyone who's planned one knows this argument. Mumsnet's wedding boards are full of it: a venue ninety minutes out and a sister who can't drive, answered with some mix of lifts, trains and taxis from the nearest station. "Nearest", though, is the word doing the damage: the right station is the one on the driver's own route home with a fast, fairly priced train.

What the right pairing looks like

A search we ran on 1 September 2026, Cotswolds-wedding shaped: a guest driving home to Oxford, another needing London. Booked from Cheltenham, near the venue, the journey was £45.00. Riding along to Oxford and training from there: £37.60, arriving 17:47, and the drop cost the driver three minutes. Smaller win than some we've measured, which is rather the point: Partway shows the real number before anyone commits to anything.

One search per pairing, over breakfast

Ten seconds each: the driver's route, the passenger's city, done. The passenger ticks the stops they're happy with, the driver gets one link and picks. No app needed on the driver's side, no accounts anywhere, and the driver never sees what anyone paid.
